Meet the Director

With over 30 years of experience as a dedicated educator, Oylema Lewis also known as Ms. O, brings an extensive background in child development and inclusive education to the YES Camp leadership team. Her expertise is built upon a solid academic foundation, including a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University-Newark and an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education from County College of Morris.

Throughout her 18-year tenure in camp leadership, she has specialized in creating accessible, engaging environments for children of all abilities, ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to succeed. Her educational training allows her to integrate psychological principles with practical teaching methods, fostering a supportive atmosphere for diverse learning needs.

Beyond her professional credentials, Ms. O’s commitment to YES Camp is rooted in a deep personal legacy. As a mother of three, she has experienced the camp’s impact through the eyes of her own children, who progressed from campers to volunteers and, ultimately, to valued employees. This unique perspective as both a parent and a professional drives her mission to maintain the high standards of excellence and community that make YES Camp a second home for so many families.
